You can now remove Windows Features like Internet Explorer
- 2 Comment
A few days ago I posted about how Google is following Mozilla against Microsoft. It seems that Microsoft cannot take it anymore and have decided that it will allow users to Turn OFF certain features from the upcoming Windows 7. Google was against the default Windows Search whereas Opera, Mozilla and Google again were against the pre loaded Microsoft Internet Explorer that comes by default with Windows. There are many other features which can be turned off and Microsoft Windows Media Player is the biggest among them. I guess Microsoft has made this decision to avoid any future antitrust cases adding to the one they have already lost in the EU.
Now you can turn off these products from Windows using a screen which will look like this:

I don't think this is going to make any difference because if someone can turn these features off then they might uninstall the programs as well. I think MS is playing safe by taking such a smart step.

Yes, IE seems out of date if compared with Mozila. It is good that we can turn it on again whenever required. Thanks for sharing valuable information.
